Ok, I know I say this every time but time is just FLYING by! And waaaaay too quickly when it comes to Miss Addy. She is just growing so fast and changing daily, part of me wishes I could just stop time. I find myself cherishing every moment even more and not wanting my baby to grow up. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital and now I'm already trying to schedule her 6 month pictures! I even caught myself thinking about having another baby the other night... Now, I don't think I'm quite that crazy just yet but just goes to show that her newborn/baby-baby phase is officially over and I'm just not ready for that!

Brian's 29th birthday |

5 Year Anniversary! |
January was a great month for our little family of 3.5. We celebrated Brian's 29th birthday with good friends, going to a great dinner and back to our house for more "celebrating". Hard to believe that we'll both be turning 30 within a year! We're very excited about our 30th birthday trip, which we have yet to plan. All we know is that we will be somewhere tropical sometime at the end of September with hopefully many of our friends. Now THAT will be a celebration! :) Brian and I also had our 5 year anniversary on January 27th and actually enjoyed an entire evening out just the two of us! After an awesome and somewhat unique dinner of rabbit and venison, we ended the night with a burlesque show in downtown Seattle. We thought the show was great, although the multiple glasses of champagne consumed may have helped our reviews. Either way, we had a lot of fun! January also brought us one of the biggest snow storms I've ever seen in Washington, bringing almost 14 inches of snow to our neighborhood and with it a week off of work for me! Yipee!! An unexpected week off with Addy was the best gift ever, so thank you snow gods! Although still too young to enjoy the white stuff, we put Addy in her cute little snowsuit and took some pictures of her in her first snow. She could have cared less. :)

Addyson turned 5 months old on February 5th and is getting more and more personality right before our eyes. She is such a happy girl and we have so much fun with her! Of course, she could do just about anything and I'm sure Brian and I would find it to be the most adorable thing ever. One of our absolute favorites is when she wakes up from a nap - the second we peek in to the crib we're rewarded with the biggest smile imaginable, then when we lift her out she grabs onto us tightly and squeals and giggles in delight. It is the most heart-melting thing ever! We both love it so much we actually fight over who gets to get her when she wakes up and usually end up running down the hall elbowing each other to get there first! The squealing giggles are a new addition to her noise repertoire and also come out when she sees Lucia (she LOVES Lucia) and when she's playing with Daddy's hair. Not sure why that gives her such a kick but it does!

A few weeks ago we were up at Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kim's house for the weekend. My dad was playing with Addy and she kept throwing up her legs every time he would say "Pull 'em!" so he could give them a little shake. It was hysterical! We even got it on video because it was so amazing to us that she was putting up her legs on command:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDSeEj4xwaw&feature=youtube_gdata_player. Her feet are definitely her favorite things to play with. Just within the last week she constantly has her legs up in the air, both feet in her hands and sometimes one foot in her mouth. I don't think I was EVER that flexible. She's getting so strong too and constantly wants to stand up. We do our "pull-ups" every day - I hold her hands and she basically pulls herself all the way from laying down to standing up, squealing as she goes!

I'm starting to think that she's way too smart and knows how to work Brian and I. It's funny to see her little personality come out more and more, especially when she exhibits traits that are so obviously from one of us. Addy's very tactile and loves running her hands through her blanket, something that Brian does even to this day. She can definitely be a little dramatic, something I love to tell Brian also came from him. :) And she loves football! She literally will crane her head all the way around when she's on her playmat just to watch the game on TV! She's also very strong-willed and stubborn, which I'm sure she gets from me. Yes, I admit I can be a bit stubborn... It's already apparent that she loves music. Every single night before she goes to bed, I walk around with her and we sing
The Ants Go Marching, Moonlight Bay, Shine on Harvest Moon and end with
Dream a Little Dream of Me. No matter how tired and cranky she is, she immediately goes calm and quiet when we start singing and even joins in sometimes, cooing like she's trying to sing along with me. I think we may have a future singer on our hands! She also is not a huge cuddler and gets really mad when you're in her face or giving her kisses when she's not in the mood, just like her mommy! But now I find myself on the other end of that trait because all I want to do is kiss her chubby little cheeks constantly and she definitely gets annoyed with me, haha!
